Freedom Programme FACILITATOR TRAINING

Three Day Facilitator Training

The Facilitator Training teaches trainees how to run the Freedom Programme. It is very intense and lasts for three days. Each trainee receives a manual and two copies of Living with the Dominator which must be read before attending the training.

It includes a performance of the play ‘LADY IN RED’ by Certain Curtain Theatre Company. Whenever space allows, we invite local agencies to join us on the last afternoon for the performance free of charge.

We organise all three day training events and sell places directly. This means that organisations can purchase as few or as many places as they require for £450.00 each plus VAT.

New criteria apply from 01.06.10.

Aspiring trainees MUST have read 'Living with the Dominator' before EVEN applying.

They must also have some prior knowledge or experience of the Freedom Programme. This can come from being involved with an existing programme in their workplace or having completed a 12 week rolling programme as a service user. Otherwise they must attend a one day training event such as 'Schools Out' which includes an introduction to the Freedom Programme. This can save organisations a lot of money as they can use the £100.00 one day training to raise awareness among their staff and not waste the £450.00 three day training on staff that may never facilitate the Freedom Programme.

Three Day Refresher

We are offering a facility for ongoing supervision of TRAINED facilitators in the form of refresher training. This will only cost £40.00 plus vat to cover catering. This offer is open to trainees who trained with me or a licensed and approved trainer who is listed on my web site. It is not open to anyone who has not done the facilitator training.

One Day Training

ONE DAY AWARENESS RAISING TRAINING TO INFORM LOCAL AGENCIES ABOUT THE FREEDOM PROGRAMME.

These TARGETED events can be offered as a block booking. Organisations can commission me to run the day for a fixed fee of £2500.00 plus vat. They provide the premises and refreshments. They provide up to a maximum of 40 trainees. I provide 50 copies of Living with the Dominator and insist that all trainees read it before attending. Trainees do not receive a manual and are not equipped to facilitate the Freedom programme. However they will then be in a position to make informed referrals to the local Freedom Programmes. All trainees receive a certificate of attendance. In 2010 I will be organising one day events, advertising them on my web site and selling individual places.

One day training on THE EFFECTS OF DOMESTIC ABUSE ON CHILDREN - download leaflet

This event provides information about domestic abuse and its effect on children. It assists child care professionals to improve their practice.

One day training on UNDERSTANDING DOMESTIC ABUSE

This event provides information about domestic abuse for professionals such as police officers who come in to contact with abusers or their victims. Trainees learn exactly what domestic abuse is and how victims are affected.

One day training on UNDERSTANDING SEXUAL VIOLENCE AND ABUSE.

This training is aimed at agencies who provide support for survivors of sexual abuse .
