Interview with a Graduate
Partners tell me that 6 out of every 10 students improve their behaviour. 4 do not change. At the time of writing about 120 male students have completed the weekend course since December 2006. - please read the feedback from people who have attended the Men's course
I personally provide programmes in the form of weekend two-day training events. This enables men from across the UK or from overseas to attend.
I call my courses 'awareness raising' programmes and they are open to any man who wishes to improve his relationship skills or simply to find out more information. I do not use the word 'perpetrator' but refer to my trainees as 'students'.
There is no provision for discussion about personal circumstances. Consequentially the programme is suitable for everyone including gay men and any male professional looking for some cheap training.
All students who complete the course are given certificates of completion. I never write reports. This prevents the programme being used to manipulate women and the courts. If a man's former partner wishes to know if he has attended I will always tell them although I will make no comment on his progress.
If a couple are still together I insist that the man's partner attends the course with him. Women have watched their partners change dramatically. They have also watched them fail to change and have been fully aware of what they were watching. In both cases women have been given the ability to make informed choices. The same rule applies to gay men.
If a man will not behave in a pleasant and co-operative manner I ask him to leave. If he refuses I close the whole group down and set a new date with the students who genuinely wish to attend. Many students have repeated the course several times. They say they do this because they have enjoyed it and have learnt so much. They tell me that they were amazed to discover that they had fun!
Quote from a trainee.
Once again, thank you from the bottom of my heart to you and all the other wonderful people at Freedom for giving me this opportunity and allowing me the chance to change for the better.
Second time round at the weekend and once again humbled and amazed at the strength of the human spirit against any and all adversity.
Second time round and hopefully many more to come. Thank you
Indebted forever

This thought-provoking book is worth far more than its weight in gold
Wow! I couldn't put it down, read it all in one sitting.
Blew my mind and passed it onto colleagues at work - had similar effect on them too.
An eye opener - saw my ex-husbands there, saw their types...
